Who you callin a “faggot”?

Okay, so I realize that most of the the posts that I make on this site are at least with some attempt at comedic value or relevance to pop culture but I found this article online that just REALLY made me think.  What would we, as a society, do if we turned on the news one day or opened the daily newspaper only to see or hear professional reporters or commentators using words like “spic”, “nigger”, “chink”, etc…?  In a heartbeat there would be a major media backlash, in most cases resulting in the “offender” being thrown to the unemployment line.  Due to the media’s overall knowlege of this fact, its something you don’t see happen.  What I don’t understand is why in 2007 there are still some out there that have it in their small minds that use of the word “faggot” is still socially acceptable.  With that being said, whoin the hell does Ann Coulter think she is?

This woman deemed it necessary to refer to  presidential candidate John Edwards in the statement “I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot.’ So … I can’t really talk about Edwards.” (referring to the recent media blitz surrounding the use of the word by actor Isaiah Washington and retired NBA star Tim Hardaway)  AND defending her statement simply as a “schoolyard taunt”.

In my opinion, this self proclaimed “patriot” is a fraud.  If nothing else this outspoken right-winger is full of conservative bullshit.  Last time I checked the definition of the word patriot (according to websters) was as follows:

pa·tri·ot–noun

1. a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion.
2. a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, esp. of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government.
3. (initial capital letter) Military. a U.S. Army antiaircraft missile with a range of 37 mi. (60 km) and a 200-lb. (90 kg) warhead, launched from a tracked vehicle with radar and computer guidance and fire control.

Now, the last time I checked we were all americans regardless of who we share our lives or our beds with.  Just as Ann Coulter has her first amendement right to freedom of speech, the Declaration of Independance itself states that every american has the full right to “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, all three of which are listed under the “undeniable rights of man”.  So, I ask you, Ann Coulter, what gives you the right to use such derogatory language so freely?  What makes you think that one ignorant slur is more acceptable than the other?  Lastly, what makes you feel so secure that you can just say what you want with no recourse?  Take a deep look inside yourself and deal with your own insecurities, as it seems to me that youre nothing but just another schoolyard bully.

  1. Hello

Great book. I just want to say what a fantastic thing you are doing! Good luck!

    G’night

  2. The reason why it is socially acceptable to say faggot is because its still is and always will be up in the air as to whether or not someone chooses to be a flaming homo. I personally believe that you may not choose to be gay but u certainly choose to be a cumguzzling queen. What I mean by that is there are homos who are just normal dudes and are attracted to dudes and then there are homos who act like women, which i dont get because they arent attracted to women so why would you be attracted to a man that acts like a woman but anyways. When i personally use the term faggot I am referring to the queens and diva homos. Black people can not choose to be white, spanish people can not choose to be white, little poeple can not choose to be tall and so one and maybe gays cant choose to be gays but they can choose to be flaming faggots and thats why the word faggot is great and should be used at all times when referring to men who are gay and act like women. fag.

    • In a nutshell, You’re a bigot

  3. Well Matt, thats a mouthful;-)

The irony of your comment however is that even on your best day, youll never be half as much a dude as me. You can throw your closet-induced, homophobic bulshlit around all you want but you, me, an anyone who knows anything about being gay all know the truth behind your words..

    Thanks for reading!
